Iceland is opening up its borders in June and welcoming all travelers, under requirements of testing or officially accepted proof of health.
Iceland is one of the safest destinations in the world. Icelandic authorities have tested the population on an aggressive scale and are prepared to test all those who travel to the country. Travel restrictions have already been loosened from May 15 for business travelers and professionals arriving in Iceland, including scientists, journalists, filmmakers, and athletes.
From June 15, all travelers are welcome. Upon arrival to the international airport travelers will have three choices; to be tested for the Covid-19 virus, to undergo a 14 day quarantine, or provide proof of health from authorities in their home countries, which is officially accepted by the Icelandic Directorate of Health. Those tested at the airport will continue to their hotels and stay there until test results are available the same day. Those who test negative will not require any further quarantine. All visitors will also be asked to install a contact-tracing app, storing data in their phones for 14 days at a time.
Life in Iceland has now turned back to normal. Icelanders are back to work after having had time-off to update their business models, spend time with immediate family, travel around their own country and enjoy the spacious nature.
Hotels, restaurants and shops are now gradually getting up to full operation, although still taking necessary measures to protect their clients and following all guidelines given by the highly-valued Icelandic Response Team.
International companies are already putting their trust in Iceland because of the strong response from Icelandic authorities in containing and tracking the pandemic. Companies such as Netflix are currently producing material in Iceland, thanks to the strong response.
Netflix’s content chief said that when it comes to production, almost all filming has now been stopped globally, with the exception of only two countries. Iceland is one of the two countries.
”We have to be able to look our employees and cast and crew in the eyes and say,
‘This is a safe place to work.’”Sarandos, CCO, Netflix
Some places just naturally stimulate people’s imagination and give them greater energy at the same time. Iceland is one of these places. Inspiring and refreshing, having the fine balance between untouched landscape and top-level venues – whether for events, company meetings, or challenging incentive travel. When it comes to incentive tours or team-building activities, Iceland is the perfect location.
